Mental math turned into an arcade game: your calculating speed carries an ELO rating, and 35 belted bosses stand in your way.
Free, no account, right in your browser.
Or start with today’s numbers →Abako is a free mental maths game that runs in your browser. You calculate fast: against the clock, against bosses, and against other players. Every game counts — your speed and accuracy feed an ELO rating, the same system chess uses. You are never playing into the void.
Every night at midnight, Abako Daily serves four numbers puzzles, identical for every player on the planet: six numbers, one target, the four operations, each number used once — the same idea as the numbers round on Countdown, or NYT Digits, but as a daily. No timer. Two or three minutes, once a day, then compare. Past draws and their solutions stay readable in the archive.
The Arena chains calculations, harder and harder, until your third slip — your calculating speed earns an ELO rating there, and thirty bosses await, from gentle to brutal. The Dojo takes the notions that cost you the most seconds — times tables, complements, doubles — and drills them one at a time: earn every medal in a world, and its master will fight you for the belt, white to black.
